had my interview with the hyatt today. it went well and i'll know in a week. i'm very excited :).

okay so i went to see 'pirates of the carribbean' last night and was thoroughly disappointed. first the movie was EXTREMELY long and felt every bit of it and second i just wasn't impressed. the fight scenes were too long, the movie drug on, the ending was cheesy and predictable, and unlike the first the comedy was mediocre. the first film was original and had substance, but this one was just overdone and overrated. also, keira knightly's character seemed to actually get more annoying in this film which i didn't think was possible.

all in all my rating is a c-. i doubt seriously that i will pay to go see it again in theatres. see it to see it, but don't get your hopes up about it.

hola fellow lj-ers. i hope everyone's enjoying their summer and had a happy 4th. mine wasn't too bad, except i was working at gap yesterday forever. ugh. oh well, my boy and i were working together so it wasn't bad.

so an update: didn't get the job in arlington but i'm cool with that cause i didn't want to drive back and forth. plus they were bitchy about it anyway. my friend though that i work with was saying that he could try and get me a job with jetblue which would nice. i'd work at dulles and if a customer harrasses me there then i can just call security :). so let's hope for that.

so i'm happy to report that i'm actually excited for this semester to start - except for my stupid comm class. i'm not looking forward to that. oh well. also not looking forward to the LSATs. little worried about those but i should be okay.

alright well that's about all the new stuff i have to report. you guys keep in touch and if you wanna get together i'm around :). give me a call.

yay for me updating. it's been forever since i posted anything so i figured it was time to change that. so what's been going on in my life...well lots of stuff actually. first, i'm no longer blonde. i now have short dark brown hair and i'm loving being a brunette. second, my relationship has now moved up a level where we are seriously discussing moving in together. i'm excited about this actually and i am even more excited that i'm going to have an apartment. we're going to look at some today. third, as of june 29th i will no longer be an employee at gap (thank god). i will hopefully have a receptionist job somewhere in the dc metro area (hopefully i get this job in arlington that i want). and fourth, you are now looking at a british council student ambassador at gmu.

yeah so that's mainly been what's going on in my life - well that and i have to start studying for the lsats as well. yeah for law school! - yeah i'm not sure if i posted that, but i no longer want to be a psychologist - i am very shallow and want/need to make a lot of money. yep. i have no shame in admitting that. plus, i'm an arguer by nature so i figured it fits.

okay yeah so that's been life so far and it seems to get crazier and crazier with every new day so i'll try and keep posting as often as i can to keep you guys informed. hope everyone's summer is going well and hope to see some of you all! keep in touch.

All I have to say is that I'm so ready for this movie. Was there, on set. Saw Ron Howard. Took pictures of the set. But that's not why I'm excited. Loved the book! I'm so mad though cause would have been at the theatre with pre-purchased tickets tomorrow but have to work. Hate retail. Ugh. Anyway, I will be there Sunday with my still pre-purchased tickets. So excited.

yay for me posting again! haha i'm getting back into the swing of posting.

okay so spring break is rapidly coming up (not this coming week but the next) and guess where i'll be vacationing? the lovely shores of my bed and the fast-paced world of the gap. sounds great right? haha i'm such a loser. anyway, i know a few of you will be home that same time, so let me know if you guys want to do something!! i'm itching to get back out to dc and hang out there - like at a musuem or something or shop. also need to get back out to g-town. with the bf's current schedule and mine, he's not going to be able to go with me so i leave it up to you guys to entertain me ;).

alrighty well this was a crappy post but a post nonetheless. like i said i hope everyone's doing well and hope to see you all soon!!

Wow it's been a long time

Wow it really has been forever since I last updated! Sorry about that guys - school and work and life have all been crazy.

Okay so what's been going on in my life? Well, still dating James - now been 6 months and 1 week tomorrow and it's been great :). I'm having fun and has actually made me question my belief, or lack-there-of, in love, which is crazy for me. Also, opened me up a little so that's good.

Other than that, just going to class like normal and still working. Ah and thank God that Spring Break is the week after next. That makes me smile :). Plan to totally bum it everyday of Spring Break. Also, wanted to mention something about the 21st b-day bash - okay so it's not too much of a bash but it's going to be a HUGE dinner with all my friends so you all are invited! (I'll be sending out Evites a little closer to April 1), but it'll be on April 1st (a Saturday, woot!). Like I said I'll send out official evites that I need RVSPs for a little later on.

Anyhoo, that's about all that's going in my life, not too much to report. Hope you all are doing well and school is going well! Hope to hear from you all!

an update

alrighty well i figured i'd update seeing as i haven't done so in forever! everything on this side of the pond is going well, i am EXTREMELY excited to come home though (only a mere 2 weeks). i'm also very excited to go to scotland this weekend. this will be the highlight of the trip really. we're going to edinburgh (departing tomorrow and returning sunday) and i've heard AMAZING things about it. so excited!

anyway, i just saw the trailor for 'pirates of the caribbean: dead man's chest' and it's looks awesome! also didn't get a chance to post about the new hp movie, which i really liked. so much better than the third movie which they completely butchered! but i did like it :). i'm also excited to see p. jack's 'king kong' remake. we're going to see that the last night we're all together - dec. 15. i'm also really excited to see 'the chronicles of narnia: the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe' and see if that's like the book. so many good holiday movies to see. haha i guess that's what i'll be doing over christmas break!

also, kimmi can't wait for your annual christmas party! you doing a new year's party as well or no? haha just trying to plan ahead ;).

anyway, well that's about all that's going on in my life. not much new other than classes, travelling, and papers - oh so many papers.

Okay so after having pretty much the best day ever yesterday - managing to get all my laundry done BEFORE i had class and getting a 75 on my group presentation (a 75 is a REALLY good thing here - he specifically says he never gives 75's - it's like our 98-100s) that i worked UNBELIEVABLY hard on - we went to see an 'advance' screening of "Elizabethtown" with Orlando Bloom.

Oh.My.God. This movie was sooooo good! Maybe it was just me cause I have relatives in and around Elizabethtown, Kentucky and I could relate, but it was so good! And Orlando did really well in a part where he wasn't in period clothes and had to be all intense. It was kind of too inspirational, but maybe that was me too. Yesterday was def. a turning point in this semester cause before yesterday I was really homesick and seriously wanting to come home, but now that time is flying and yesterday's amazing events, I'm like "Oh my God, I only have five weeks left from this Saturday!" I'm still excited to come home, but I also too kind of don't want to leave. I've finally left the conflict stage. But anyway, back to "Elizabethtown," I really recommend this movie and I was totally singing along with all the songs in this movie. Loved it. Have the soundtrack now. Such a good movie. I want to take a road trip now across country. Hahaha, but I really do though. It seems like it would be sooooo much fun!

Anyway enough of my ramblings :). Hope everyone is doing very well and if I don't get a chance to post before Thanksgiving, you guys have a good one :). Eat lots of turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie for me!!

okay so i felt i needed to update - let you all know how things are going over here. everything so far is fine - i do however have this lovely cold that the whole of england had just a week earlier and it's definately here to stay! ugh i hate being sick in foreign countries! anyway - only 55 more days left - exactly 8 weeks from today that i will be making my way home. yes i'm extremely homesick and ready to come back to the states and stay there for longer than and month. :). i will be back in time kimmi's christmas party - which i'm hoping you are having this year cause i def. look forward to them and seeing everyone :).

england is nice and i've gotten to do a bit of travelling so far - mainly to nottingham and london. we were supposed to go to the lake district this weekend but it got pushed to next weekend. oh well, as long as i get there :). there are new plans now of going to birmingham tomorrow which will be nice. i'm excited about that. leicester is nice and all, but it gets really boring, really fast. i've managed to spend more money this first month than i really wanted to (i can't believe it will be a month this wednesday already!). i've managed to buy three pairs of boots now which i don't know how i'm going to manage to get them back to the states. i guess i'll be shipping more things back than i thought. small price to pay :).

alrighty well nothing really exciting has happened over here really so not much to report now. i'll try and stay more up-to-date with this though and things go on. :) miss you all and i'll be back in 55 days!

Well guys I'm over here in jolly ol' England living it up at the University of Leicester! Everything's so different here but I'm happy that they speak English. The dorms are big and the university is nice as is the city centre. Def. a lot of really awesome fashion here as well! Totally bought boots and a pair of skinny jeans to go with those boots (looks totally hot though!). Never thought I'd buy skinny jeans but they work.

Well just wanted to post to let you all know that everything over here is good and I miss you all like crazy and will be back Dec. 17! Hope everything is well with you all and I will talk to you all soon!

Back in the US

Hey everyone!! Oh man I know it's been forever since I've last posted (which came from Paris) so I apologize for that. Well I'm back now in the US - been a week since yesterday - that I've been back and it's been slightly depressing. As hard as the first week in Paris was, I miss it. It's weird cause I couldn't wait to get back, but now that I'm back here I want to go back to Paris. Strange. Oh well. Man do I have some crazy stories from Paris!! All I have to say is that I appreciate American guys and American cops so much more now. That's all I have to say. I'll save all the stories for another post. I posted pics on Webshots, but it's a private album so if you wanna see them then reply to this post with your email and I'll invite you guys. Oh man it's weird too, because I turn around and leave again at the end of September to go to Leiscester, England. My grandma and rents are all upset cause of the bombings in London, but I repeatedly tell them that I'm not going to be in London. Whatever. I'm hoping Leiscester will be fun, but I do have to admit I'm kind of scared cause I'll be completely by myself flying over and moving in. That's a little intimidating but I have faith in myself to survive.

Oh man so while I was in Paris I saw 'Lords of Dogtown' - um best movie ever. I now have a renewed attraction to skaters (the real ones not the posers). Also have a new love - Emile Hirsch. He's such a good little actor plus he's hot - what I am saying though, all the skaters in that movie were hot. Anyway that's not why it was good though it was a plus. Good movie.

An Update

Hey all! Figured I'd update before I head off and take my first final exam (yuck!).

Not a lot has been going on with me lately, however I did get into my Paris Intensive Study Program this summer! WOHOO!!! For those wanting to know I leave on the 30th of June and return the 30th of July. I'm so excited though that's the end of next month and I'm freaking out cause I have SO much to do before then. On top of all that excitement I have crappy finals including a 10 page paper due Monday for Philosophy. Glorious. My stupid work hours don't help that either. I work Saturday 9 - 6 and then Sunday 10 - 3. Looks like I'll be pulling some all nighters.

Anyway, okay so i have my plan set up for how I'm going to ask my History guy out on a date, cause this is ridiculous. Although I'm really mad at myself because I had the perfect opportunity last week to do it and I chickened out EVEN THOUGH the entire class period he was staring at me and I was staring right back. I'm an idiot. Anyway so I'm going to do it final exam day and worse case scenario he says no, but that won't bother me cause I know that I was brave enough to do it and now am ready for anything, because I have gotten over fear of rejection. Whatev.

Okay well I'm off to shower and then take my final. Good luck everyone on your finals or if you've taken them already have a safe trip home!!
